5 Ways to Give the Gift of Eggnog this Holiday Season

By Sarah Cates, Macaroni Kid Concord NH Publisher Mom December 8, 2020

It is the season of giving! You may be wondering "How do I come up with the perfect gift this holiday season?" Think about what your family's or friends' favorite things are, of course! My husband's grandpa did just that. Jeremy is a HUGE Hood Eggnog fan and his grandfather knew it. Even when he was in his 90's and it was hard for him to get around or see, he made sure he found a way to get Hood Eggnog to bring to our holiday dinners. It is a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner necessity at our house.

Whether you are decorating your Christmas tree, attending a virtual holiday event, or wrapping gifts, Hood Eggnog makes everything more jolly. The extra creamy milk and spices make it the perfect holiday favorite. Last year two people brought two different brands of eggnog, so we had a real showdown. Hood Eggnog won hands down. It is definitely the most delicious kind to enjoy with your friends and family this year.

It may be tempting to hoard all the Hood Eggnog goodness yourself, but as they say "It is more blessed to give than to receive." You can give the gift of Hood Eggnog so many ways this holiday season. Here are some ideas to get you started creating memories with Hood Eggnog and your family:

1. Bring It- Give it as a hostess gift or contribution to holiday dinners. Jeremy's grandpa knew Hood Eggnog was just what we needed to make each holiday even more jolly.

2. Breakfast in Bed- If you have a loved one partnering with you to raise and provide for the family, a Hood Eggnog breakfast in bed would be a perfect gift! Click here to find lots of recipes that include Hood Eggnog in breakfast foods. From Eggnog Pancakes to Christmas Morning Baked Oatmeal (which can even be baked the night before), it's all there. You can even make a delicious Eggnog Latte to go along with it!

3. Eggnog White Chocolate Toffee Truffles- If you are looking for an amazing, creamy treat, check out these Eggnog White Chocolate Toffee Truffles. They would be a treasured homemade gift for a loved one. Want to create more memories as a family? Have your kids help you cook. It is so heart-warming to see the interest and pride they have in their work.

4. Leave for Santa- I remember an old commercial that showed a girl who got a pony because she left cheese for Santa. Imagine what Santa could bring if you left Hood Eggnog for Santa to go with his cookies (or cheese). I have the inside scoop. It is his absolute favorite!

5. Virtual Christmas Show Watching Kit- I love creating themed baskets and kits! A Christmas Show Watching Kit combines a physical gift with a fun, experience gift. All you need to do is combine goodies to help your friends or family create new memories. Here are some ideas to make a great Christmas Show Watching Kit: Hood Eggnog, a fleece throw, Christmas socks, a Christmas stuffed animal, and a ticket to WBUR’s 16th Annual Reading of “A Christmas Carol” Virtual Event on Friday, December 18th.

During this year's virtual event, five hosts of WBUR will take turns reading through "A Christmas Carol" with carols sung by one of Boston’s local choirs in between each reading. It is the perfect opportunity to make holiday memories this year. Pour some Hood Eggnog and snuggle on the couch with your family for this amazing classic. It will be streaming on Facebook Live and YouTube, so get your ticket today. Tickets go to benefit Rosie’s Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women.

Hood Eggnog is available for a limited time only, so enjoy it today. For more recipes and inspiration, be sure to follow HP Hood on Instagram and Facebook
