It seems everyone in Concord is looking for ways to get out of the house this winter! Fresh air is good for the soul — not to mention it helps to get the wiggles out of the kids.

We put together a list to help you find fun things to do this winter with your family in Concord (or just a short drive away!) during these next few winter months in the Capital region of New Hampshire:

1. Ice Fishing

Print/reference this fishing guide or grab one from your town office. There are great places to fish all over the Concord area in the summer or winter. NOTE: NH Free Fishing Day is January 20th during which fishing licenses are not required.  FREE

2. Ice Skating

Concord maintains ice skating rinks at the following locations: Beaver Meadow Pond, Rollins Park, and White Park which also has a maintained hockey rink. Skate at your own risk. The picture below shows White Park a previous year before the lodge was finished. I've also heard of ice skating areas in Allenstown, Loudon (at the Rec Field), Boscawen (in front of the municipal building), and Hopkinton.  FREE

3. Sleigh or Carriage Ride from Stoneboat Farm

Stoneboat Farm in Loudon offers sleigh rides for up to 12 people. For larger parties special arrangements can be made. Sleigh rides require at least 6" of snow. Last time I checked it was $125/Hr. for up to 5 people OR $250 for a 2 Hour Ride for up to 12 people including a Fire, Smores, and More.

4. Gunstock Mountain

Gunstock Mountain Resort offers skiing and tubing. The Mountain Coaster is not open in the winter. Reservations Suggested. Tubing is $38 for a 2 Hour Session.
