Note from the Publisher

By Sarah Cates, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Concord January 16, 2023

Hello!

I am sorry it has been so long since I wrote a personal note to all of you. I love using my time bringing you great local events and articles, but this is a great place to connect it all for you while connecting with you!

While looking for events for this coming week, I realized it is National School Choice Week. That may not mean much to most people. Although, each of us has the freedom to choose the education that works best for our families, so I want to be a resource for you. My dad was in the Navy, so I started out switching schools a bit. I have been to a private school, public schools in 2 states, homeschool, and then graduated college. Now, I am enjoying homeschooling my own little guys! If I can answer any questions for you, please reach out to me by email. I love to hear from our subscribers! If there is anything you'd like to see added to our site, please let me know.

There are lots of resources already on our site to help educate and enrich your family. Here in the Concord area, there are plenty of classes and activities for families of all ages! Do not miss our Concord Area Classes and Activities Guide for karate, swimming, dance, and music classes. Want to visit some fun places while learning locally? Check out our 52 Field Trips to Enrich Your Family's Education AND 90+ Day Trips Within 2 Hours Drive! I cannot say we have been to all of them yet, but we are plugging away at them while keeping in mind those available for free or at a discount thanks to library passes. Have you checked out your library passes yet?

Coming Soon: Some of my friends have either just had a baby or are expecting one soon, so I am in the process of creating a Concord Area Baby Guide. I'm hoping now that I told you this, I will feel accountable to put my mind to it and get it finished soon. Then believe it or not, I will be reaching out to businesses about joining our 2023 Summer Camp Guide. Summer already?!

On that note, let me encourage you to remember to not rush the years or days (speaking to myself here), but make the most of each day we have with our loved ones. Each age seems like such an interesting adventure and we have a wonderful opportunity to positively shape the lives of those around us.

Wishing You the Very Best!
